“ Expect to be made to wait frustratingly long at this dingy, run-down looking place. But it's well worth the wait. This is the best karahi chicken and lamb I've had outside of Pakistan. Amazing. ”
“ Busy as always but worth the wait I've been eating from 3 or 4 times a week ”
“ Book ahead for the chicken karahi (takes around 40 mins) and definitely order the masala fish - crisp and wonderfully spiced. Generous portions, affordable prices and we left satisfied. Will be returning for sure! ”
“ Bustling for a reason. Tried and tested offering. Fresh curries and naan. They can cater larger orders at the counter or over the phone. ”
“ When they say never judge a book by its cover, this is definitely one of those places... Ordered chicken tikka and chicken wings for starters and lamb curry and chicken curry for mains, with each curry, you get a choice of 2 roti or naan Chicken wings had good taste, the chicken tikka was nice and tasty also Chicken curry had taste and flavour to it but the lamb curry was absolutely mouthwatering, bursting with different flavours, the meat was so soft and tender. Portion sizes for the price was very very generous in my opinion... Definitely RECOMMEND this place for you to try out, but not if you want to dine in as a family... ”
“ Saw a Youtube video recommending this place and wow it did not disappoint. We knew nothing about Pakistani food beyond biryani and now Chicken Karahi is our favourite. It is both spice and umami kick and felt really homey. Worth the 40-min wait (unless you order ahead). ”
“ Desi Dera in Stapleton is my go-to spot when I’m too lazy to cook but still want proper Indian flavours. The food is affordable, authentic, and hits that ghar ka khaana standard I grew up with. Great portions, great taste, and always satisfying. Absolute gem for a takeaway treat! ”
“ Good delicious food. The roasted chicken is super good with the biryani. The Masala fish is good too. Affordable price and good portions. The place is always crowded. ”
